Garage door opener doesn't fully-open the door

About 30% of the time I try to open my garage door with the Tesla, the door opens about 6" and then stops. What I think is happening is this: the opener sends a signal to the control head for some duration (say 1 sec) and the control head sees it as two separate signals, one to open and the other to stop.

After this I have to press the garage button again to close the door, then again to open it. Repeat until it works.

Any known workaround for this?!

Are you certain it doesn't do this with the regular remote as well?
Yes, never ever happens with the regular remote or Homelink in the Prius. I've found the trick is to stop once the door starts to open until it's open about 20 cm (one section of the door) then it will continue. It also depends on your approach to the garage. In my case starting from the side of the house always works, starting from the alley always has this problem. I suspect it's because the signal is marginal.
