Feature Request: On-Screen Cruise Control

Far harder to operate, and much less safe than the lever, sounds like an incredibly bad idea to me. (no offence)

My preference is to keep driver controls away from passengers as much as possible.

At least with the classic speedometers, Tesla's cruise control works pretty well - allowing easy adjustments +/- 1 or +/- 5 using the cruise control stalk.

From a safety standpoint, changing the speed with hands on the steering wheel is probably better than having the driver divert attention, go to the touchscreen, locate the new speed and then press it on the touchscreen.

From a user interface standpoint - controlling speed with the cruise control stalk is much more efficient.

That doesn't mean there shouldn't be more settings available on the touchscreen. One setting that might be useful is to allow the cruise control to do more coasting, allowing the speed to temporarily go a little higher than the set speed - so that less energy is being used when going over hills or overpasses.

With my luck, I would attempt to reduce my speed from 68 to 60; hit a bump in the pavement and accidentally depress the 75MPH button.
