Message: Regenerative Braking Disabled

There are many threads that discuss this. Short answer: when the internal temperature of the battery pack falls below a threshold value, the electronics start to limit max regen braking. At 10º F., you won't have any regen at all.

If you want to have regen when the ambient temperature is below freezing, try turning off Range mode while plugged in and charge your car just before unplugging it in the morning. You can also run the climate control to bring up the cabin temperature before unplugging, which saves a lot of battery power which would otherwise be used to heat the cabin when you start out.

See it all the time in the winter. Comes on when the temperature drops. If you have Range Mode OFF, regen will return (in small amounts at first) pretty quick. With Range Mode On, it will take a lot longer for the battery pack to heat up to allow for regen. Similarly, if Range Mode is OFF and you preheat the car, it will warm the battery pack and you can have some regen when you start driving (where as with range mode off, even extensive preheating won't have much/any impact on regen).

That message doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the car per say, just that it is taking steps to keep itself happy in cooler weather. However, be aware that without any regen, the car will coast seemingly forever when you let off the accelerator - it can be off putting at first.

OP your smartphone is your best friend, just remember to turn on heating to 70 degrees 5 minutes before you leave work.
If my car is plugged in overnight I don't need to heat, if not same as above.
