Li-ion thermal shutdown and restart?

I have some Li-Po batteries (for my drone) that I have been warned could overheat upon (over) charging and burst into flames. Is there any reason to fear that Tesla batteries (power wall, cars) could be exposed to these Li-Po problems?
Tesla liquid heate/cools the batteries and monitors the temperatures. They limit charge/discharge rates if the temperatures are out of range.
