Model X owners, have you explored swapping out the OEM wheels with different size OEM or aftermarket wheels? If so, this is the thread to share your results!

From the towing FAQ in the firmware:

I'm taking delivery of a Sig P90D X very soon and would love to take off and sell the 22" wheels and tires.

Could someone explain why max. towing capacity is reduced when you move up to 22-inch tires? Isn't the tire circumference the same as when you have a 20-inch rim, just taller rubber? Perhaps that's where I go wrong.

I believe the load capacity is less because of less sidewall rubber. Just a guess based my recollection of another post. Can't find that post so assume it is hearsay.

Yes, shorter sidewalls on the tires giving less load rating. Higher towing capacity means a higher tongue weight which means more weight on the rear wheels/tires. Putting seven people and luggage in a Model X and then putting weight on the hitch adds up pretty fast!
