President Obama Signs Bill RecognizingÂ Asteroid Resource Property Rights into Law | Planetary Resources

This is a wide ranging bill that acknowledges the future of commercial space ventures and gives private space companies rights. Also, and very important for SpaceX, rights for private companies to launch government astronauts into space.

I heard that the UAE wants to start a space company in order to go mining platinum on asteroids. And this bill tells them that they will own what they will mine in space. There will be no legal complications afterwards. And therefore this Space Act seems to be a really big deal.
