What do you mean "will be announced"? As customers actually getting their cars? Not happening.

I'm going to guess deliveries start the first week of December. We're getting too close to Thanksgiving with no word from Tesla for things to come together before then.

The speculation, heresay and innuendo found on the internet is many times misleading, frustrating and disappointing all at the same time...

Our P85D entered production on 11/21/14 and then it was shipped by rail. It only made it to our Service Center on 12/29 with a few days left in the year.

With only 40 days left in 2015, upcoming holidays and no confirmed mass production start date, I am going to say that if Tesla manages to deliver 100 Signatures by 1/1/16, they will outdo themselves.
They ran out of time in 2015, unfortunately.

They of course, could deliver them by truck as they used to do and take a small hit on margins. Delivering 1-2k of them in late December is not all that hard if they had them built.

I've been told to still expect rail delivery by the DS's. Which probably puts delivery at early January at this point here in FL...

With Signature deliveries of one's and two's and three's outside of California, it may not be economical for Tesla to use rail to some geographies. However, it seems that having all the Production X reservation holders configure and being able to batch and ship carloads via rail to various state terminals would achieve economies of scale. Rail can't directly deliver to a Design or Service center, there has to be a Auto Rail Terminal -- Lorton Va (northern VA), West Chicago (Chicago area), Dacula, Ga (Atlanta) a few that I am familiar. From these, they use Truck Carriers -- that is how traditional dealers get their inventory. Using this method, high numbers to a single location (at least a train car load from the factory) has to be the model, since they don't transfer cars to and from rail cars. As Tesla ramps Fremont to nearly 2000 vehicles a week, rail batching most likely will be the transport for S and X. Batching both models via rail to a distant terminal.

They ship them in containers on the train so transferring them to a truck is relatively easy. Not sure if they can fit 2 or 3 of the Model X in one container

I suspect that the early production of X's will go by rail to the east coast, and then by truck as we go into December. Of course, some areas are always going to be by truck.

Latest Model S forum reports are now showing about 30 days from confirmation to delivery on the east coast. Apparently they have already switched to truck delivery for the remainder of the year.

I talked to my delivery specialist today and was told I should have my X built in December and be able to pick it up at the Factory in mid to late December. I think I'm vin 8xx if I remember correct what they had told me

Not sure where you are getting this information, but I'm Signature #1 and I've been told by car is "not yet in production" with no delivery forecast.

When I talked to mine he said it would be in production in a week to a week and a half. Yours has gotta be days away from the start of production.
