So, I've been obsessively refreshing MyTesla and I'm still in production after 7 excruciating days. Some people get out of production in 5 days, some in 7, some 10. Is there any correlation between time in production and issues later in the car's life? Does this mean my baby has/had more issues in QC? Or am I just paranoid and should get over myself? I just want it shipped already!!

I suspect that the assembly lines were halted for retooling to accommodate a change?

OP, as excited as we can be -- and I was just recently there -- you need to be patient. "In Production" can be days or weeks from our soon-to-be-owner perspective looking at the My Tesla page multiple times a day. It includes time to procure parts (including any time if something you ordered, then have no control over takes a little longer to obtain), prioritizing your future build in the global assembly process, assembly itself, and THEN QA (and potential repair/rework that would be done at that point if need be.) -- all things you have no control or visibility over.
Hate to say it, but to your question, IMHO, you're just paranoid. There is no correlation you or someone else can make from your concern. Your time and concerns would be better spent lining up what you're going to do once you do take delivery: Getting your home charging situation ready-to-go so you can plug in the moment you get home after that first long drive; Initial detailing regime and having all the supplies ready; Deciding on a coating or some other paint protectant -- and then who is going to apply/install and setting up an appointment (good ones here are several weeks out); Tint on the windows, and if so, what kind, what shade, which windows, and who installs it; Getting your accessories ordered and on their way -- Key Fobs, Windshield Sun Shade, different floor mats (do you need all-weather types?); Re-reading the Owners Manual and watching videos on YouTube; Ensuring with your Delivery Specialist you have 100% of your docs uploaded to My Tesla and have all financing done; Maybe painting a garage wall Tesla Red and decorating your future man cave with a big bold Tesla sign (like I did -- ah ha!); Making a list of things you want to check for yourself on day of delivery before you sign on the dotted lines, as well as any specific questions you have not been able to determine from all your research but want answers to; Etc., etc.

Nothing in the world is going to make your car come out of production any sooner! You are most definitely paranoid, but I think we can all relate to an extent. I could be wrong, but from what I've picked up, Tesla puts cars into production in batches based on options/paint/model/etc. So depending on when your batch goes into production could impact timing, along with where you are in that particular batch (first in line or last). And I'm sure there are numerous other factors that could come into play as well I'm not sure of the particulars of how this works but that's what I've ascertained from this forum and my DS.
There is another member that was just a few VIN#'s above mine and we placed our orders on the same day, confirmed and entered queue on same days. She went into production a couple days before me and was out of production well over a week before me. So who knows. Don't stress about it!!

My car has been in production as of 11/04 making today day 9. I am very anxious to receive my car too and check mytesla hourly. I'm confident that Tesla will make it perfect before it ships out to the east coast, but the wait is agonizing.
We went into production at almost the same time and we're in the same area. We're in CT, too. Are you picking up in Milford? I bet we're on the same truck/train.

Of course it will. Same as pressing the pedestrian crossing button or elevator call button over and over speeds up the light change and elevator arrival.

My car languished in the production queue for weeks, then into production long after some cars ordered later and then finished in 4 days.
DES explained to me that a car can be held up in production for various reasons, including batching of similar components or paint colors, or may be pulled to correct some QC problem. Average time in production for 97 cars reported on the spreadsheet in Q4 2015 has been 7.5 days, one took 28 days, one took 3.
Yup. Milford as well. Early December quoted by DS. Yeah -- I was thinking that too. That's awesome!

I will be watching your transit times with interest.... some cars get here quick (Milford) while others languish somewhere enroute. I will be ordering in late December for a March delivery.
Pippen's 90D took well over 3 weeks to arrive... It came to Milford via New Jersey and then was brought up to Mt. Kisco for final delivery. There were some mitigating circumstances, like a holiday that stopped all the trains I heard. Now near the end of the quarter, Tesla tends to pull out the stops and has been known to ship cars east via enclosed auto carriers similar to Inter-City and Horseless Carriage.
BTW, I live only 4 miles from the Milford Service Center and can run over there just about any day to take some pics of your cars when they arrive.... let me know.
BTW, if you need a good electrician, let me know, I just had a new service and HPWC and 14-50 installed.

It would be awesome if you get a chance to get those pictures -- but please, don't go out of your way. I am having my outlet installed tomorrow morning. I will keep you updated on the progress. Good luck with your order as well.
I'm hoping for the same thing. My DS has me thinking it will be here before Thanksgiving but being I am out of town the 24th-30th it might not matter much.
