Wow TEG. It's a Toyota (Tesla's new love).
    Looks a bit Franzish
    Check that air intake shape
    New red color

    Looks good.

To get a low cost vehicle with decent range they need to really focus on aerodynamics and light weight materials, and forget about expensive bells and whistles and gadgets. Do a bare bones base model that can be upgraded with options, but pull out every trick in the book to get the most from a smaller battery pack. Think Solectria Sunrise and the new VW concept.

Most lightweight materials don't come cheap.

True, which is why I would focus more on aerodynamics. However you don't need to use expensive carbon fiber to get reasonable weight reduction, some careful design and material choices can take care of that. For example composite panels of hemp cloth and bio based epoxy resin can be fairly light weight plus be used to push the "green" angle.

Everyone seems to be expecting 2 doors.

I was always expecting 4 doors but started this topic to discuss what might someday be a coupe variant... Many car models start off with a 4 door, than add a 2 door later...
