After considering it for several months, I decided to begin the process of purchasing a Model S. I began by using Tesla's web page to find out what my trade-in was worth. Tesla responded quickly by e-mail, and asked me many questions about my car. I submitted the answers on Monday, and was told I should expect to hear from them in 24 to 48 hours. It's now been six days since I last heard from them. I sent a follow-up e-mail on Friday asking the status, but no response. This strikes me as a strange way to do business. Unfortunately, my profound hearing loss prevents me from using the telephone, so e-mail is my best form of communication. Is this kind of unresponsiveness common with Tesla? If they simply don't want my car in trade, you'd think they'd have the courtesy to tell me that.
