Charging in Coffs Harbour

Charged today at Coffs Harbour showground. Need to ring ahead on 02 6652 8401 to "book" as all the power outlets are locked to control the Grey Nomads.
Used the Tesla UMC with the three phase adaptor.

Yes. You Need a different plug/adaptor for each amperage you expect to use. I have 20 and 32. Neither fit a 50 AMP socket.

Thats strange, a 32A 3ph plug should fit in a 40A or 50A socket, the 32, 40 and 50 all have the same pin size, there is just a key way that prevents a higher amperage plug going into a lower amperage socket. Obviously, all sockets must have the 5th neutral pin for the UMc to work, so 4 pin sockets are no good.

See this Clipsal catalogue, page 15.

Tesla should be selling the pigtail with the 20A Aussie plug rather than the Euro plug, and offering a 32A adaptor.

Are they selling any 15A or higher 1 ph pigtails yet?

Adam.

Ray, thanks for this thread and contact for the Showgrounds in Coffs Harbour. I may pass there for a charge on my next trip to Canberra.

no higher capacity single phase pigtails yet. I asked only about a week or so ago. I also asked whether a 3 phase adaptor could be wired single phase ( as has been done for my boat ), but was told no.

At the risk of being thumped; from http://www.teslamotors.com/en_EU/models-charging#/basics the following diagram. If one can take the third entry and adapt as I did, what about the other entries?

That is what I want. Yes, indeed, I am quite capable of building the adaptor. Any idea how I can order those parts given that Jesse claims he has no ETA on them here? I could try and order direct from the European web site but I am not sure how to get in to do so.

by the way, assuming I can get the adaptor, where did you get the socket to suit? I know yours was 3 phase, but you still needed the 3 phase European socket. Did Tesla supply it?
Yes, it is the European one, I got the adaptor from Tesla Sydney for $130. Talk to Mitchell.
I got the socket from http://www.uniquip.net.au/ Marc tells me the following have them too.

Further to charging at Coffs, I have now confirmed (visual inspection) that North Coast Holiday Parks 123 Pacific Highway Coffs Harbour have available 32 AMP three phase power that they will provide with an overnight stay in one of their cabins (from $97 per night for two). Phone 02 6652 1694. They are in the end of the showground.
