BMW EVolve smartphone app

It's a brilliantly simple little app, this. You type in your area code, agree to some terms (including the option for BMW to track your usage) and then every time you set out on a drive, it logs your trip, mileage, time and fictional range to determine if an all-electric vehicle is right for you.

I really think it could help people ease their range anxiety. It's based on the specifications of the BMW 1 Series-based ActiveE, but if you could enter the range and charging speed (Miles per charge hour) of the car, this could be a very good app to use before buying an electric car.

I will try it when available (and bug-free) on the android market. :biggrin:
