Somebody forgot to show this reviewer how to close the trunk. In his summary he calls the latches "quirky." They're certainly not quirky when you know how to close them.
Push down gently on one side. Push down gently on the other. No slamming, and no pushing in the middle.
And don't overfill the trunk/boot.
(It is unfamiliar to those used to a solid metal trunk lid.)
A lot of publishers require a "pro" and "con" box for product review articles.
If all he came up with "funky trunk latches" that's excellent. It's the kind of the thing the average reader looks at and thinks "if that's all he came up with..."
Better that than something that sounds negative.
If you need to know how to use something as basic as a trunk-lid catch then it's quirky. It may [or may not] be the perfect engineering solution, but it's a catch. One shouldn't need to know how to use it!Originally Posted by zack
