Plimoth Plantation will hold an event to mark the successful
implementation of an electric vehicle charging program that the museum and five other Plymouth
area locations installed earlier this year. The event will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at
2:00 p.m. in the museum’s main parking lot adjacent to the charging stations. State and Town
government officials will participate in the event to share remarks about the environmental and
economic benefits of the program. There will be demonstrations showing how vehicles use the
charging stations. Cider and donuts will be served. The event is open to all.
The charging stations are the result of a grant program developed by the Massachusetts Department
of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), through the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental
Affairs, known as the Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (MassEVIP). The Town of
Plymouth’s Planning Department and the charging unit vendor (ChargePoint), with cooperation from
the private business sector, installed the electric fueling infrastructure system throughout the Town
of Plymouth.
