lol, that's not fair for Aston Martin. When the first time I saw a picture of concept Model S, I thought it was so pretty, and it looks like an Aston Martin.
I think the current Maserati, Tesla Model S, and Ford Fusion more or less are influenced by Aston Martin design.

How do they calculate the hp? Too soon?

I always loved Aston Martin. I am all with Jeremey, that their cars are not just cars but car pornography.

I would have to reply to Aston Martin with... well, I actually would have to check the forum's terms, because I do not want to get banned on my third post - but lets say my reply to Aston Martin would consist of two words. The first word starts with a rather early letter from the alphabet and the second word with a rather late word from the alphabet.

Especially if that 200 mile range is similar to Tesla's ideal range. Even if this is an EPA range it's still 53 miles less than the P85D and even less than the P90D. Looks nice though.

Andy Palmer's comments about Tesla sound to me like a cry of pain. I'm sure they have their own internal estimates of how many sales they've been losing to Tesla.

As a British company I think they are referring to the European NEDC rated range. EPA range is not used outside North America. In Europe the S85 rated range is 502km NEDC (311 mi). 200 mi NEDC would be 200/311= 64% of S85's range = 170 EPA rated range = 95 miles less EPA rated range

Sounds like sour grapes to me too. How many Aston owners have taken their car to a track? Making the car be a pleasure to drive on public roads is far more important.

On the other hand, given his history at Nissan, at lease he has some enthusiasm for electric cars (which is better than other executives).

AM, Very unreliable vehicle. Especially for their prices. They need to work at quality and forget the stupid "Hot Laps idea." Ludicrous mode is much smarter, Mr not so smart CEO.

Tesla should be flattered by this. Also free advertising with all of the mentioning of Tesla by their CEO.

Hmm...I wonder if he tossed his cookies on his P85D test drive and that's why Ludicrous speed is 'stupid'.

I think this is great news. It will bring more validity to the market and likely force Tesla to up their game...note they are sourcing the battery from those outside of the Tesla Supply Chain. Finally some legitimate competition. Good for all concerned.

And with no Supercharging network available (unless they are going to cooperate with Tesla?). The stated range isn't adequate unless paired with a seriously fast L3 network, and none exist today except Tesla's.

While I think this is good news for electrification of the auto world I'll believe it when I see it. Right now it's vapor ware. But we should all wish AM success.

And at that price they aren't looking to sell more the a handful of thousand cars a year at most. I'm sure it will be a nice car though if it comes out.
