did you get the extended warranty

I'm interested but a little put off by that many miles, even on a newer/replaced battery. You have driven it enough that forum-typical depreciation formulas tend to fall apart. How firm is your price?

Also curious to hear how you feel it handled in the snow in MA as RWD. I've heard mixed things from Midwesterners in the winter, and it seems more like the driver than the car. Full disclosure: I'm in MN and looking at a new barebones 70D also.

I can understand worrying about mileage on a used car IF IT HAD A GAS ENGINE. Gas engine cars wear out over time and mileage is a good indicator of wear on the drive train. Even the "forum-typical depreciation formulas" are skewed by gas car experience. Electrics don't wear out like gas cars do, don't start using more oil, making noise, needing replacement parts. Ain't the same.

This is a TESLA. The warranty for the drive train reads, "Eight years INFINITE miles."

You are not looking at a gas engine car. The years on the battery are about the only concern, and then the condition of the car and the included options. As for comparing it to a 70D, you will find that more range is better, always. Especially as your battery degrades slowly. In eight years, you might have an 85 with the range of a 70, while the 70 might only have 55.

I would say this is a good price. Some one will get a good deal.

I replied to your other post on this matter but it is easy for you to say this when you are not the person buying a used car. Miles matter for a used car, electric or not.

If Tesla agreed with your assessment that miles do not matter, they would not have limited the bumper to bumper warranty to 50,000 miles.

The fact is with a Tesla that 50,000 miles is the only carefree ownership period of a new car where Tesla will cover anything that goes wrong. Based on recent forum posts, it seems like a good idea to have warranty coverage as any unexpected repairs could be quite expensive. Yes the powertrain is warranted for 8 years but there are other things that could go wrong besides the powertrain the same way most ICE car's powertrain can likely handle about 150K+ miles of driving.

You can't have a warranty limited to 50,000 miles and then claim miles don't matter when someone else is on the hook for repairs after that mileage limit is hit...

That said I agree the car is very fairly priced and it seems the seller is quite reasonable in entertaining fair offers. Like I said earlier I think this is a great car available for a very reasonable price and I'm sure it will make someone very happy Good luck to the seller in finding a nice home for this beautiful car!
