Regular 19's vs. Cyclones?

Not really, I couldn't justify it either. I actually really like the standard 19's, but I'm kinda being drawn to the 21's. I just can't do it with all the potholes here!!

Take a look at T-sportsline's TST if you want different 19's but don't think the $2500 for the cyclones is worth it.

This is what I did. I liked the look of the turbine wheel the best but didn't want to go with 21's. And you can get the Tsportline's for less than the cyclones, of which I didn't really like the look of anyway.

Cyclones are 2% more efficient than the standard 19". Also, you can powdercoat them to look similar to the 21" Turbines. Tesla can update your car avatar to reflect the darker color as they actually sold a few gray cyclones.

I'm going to be going with the T Sportline 19" wheels as well, once they're back in stock! Cost is $1700 vs. $2500 for Tesla's cyclones (that you'd then have to powder coat to get gray). Bit of a no-brainer.

This was a dropped thread, but I'd be curious to know if there's any difference in efficiency between the Sportlines and the Cyclones.

19' TST wheels and possible increased energy usage

Dont know how anyone could get the Cyclones when the 19' T-Sportline turbines exist, the spokes on the Cyclones are not attractive, just not a good looking rim. Even the stock 19's look better and cost nothing. And the Sportline's are cheaper and better looking. :wink:

That is a great looking wheel at an amazingly low price. I hope it is strong enough to resist serious pot holes. Didn't someone post last year about bending a Lugano wheel?
UPDATE: here is the thread about that Four Rial Lugano 19 wheels bent in two weeks - are they up to the task?

I was the OP for this thread. I have since changed to Pirelli Cinturato P7 all season plus tires, and my energy use dramatically went down. It now appears to be on-par with the OEM 19's wheels.

Standard: $300 Cyclones: $800 per wheel. The cyclones are nice, but not $500 nice. $50 more would be about the right amount.

Regarding the 19" standard wheels, I have heard suggestions that they can be powder coated the Tesla grey color and end up looking surprisingly nice.

I'm considering this for my spare set of standard 19"s and would like to see it on a white car, if anyone can share has a pic.

Trying to find a pic of the powder coated Tesla grey on the standard 19" on a white car. However, yours are the cyclones and do look great.

Ah. Misread your question. There are pics of standard 19" powdercoated grey in that thread too.

I couldn't justify the big difference in price to buy the Cyclones. They are nice but at the same time not as symmetrical as I'd like. Too bad they weren't just a couple hundred bucks more than base 19s. I'm happy with the base wheels though.

This is something tesla really struggles with!! As long as the issue isn't with the long piece of bright work along the top it's all just tension mounted and it's very easy to align yourself vs waiting for the techs to finally do it. The last time I was there they showed me how easy it is to move it.
