Can you get one without the chrome?

Cool thanks guys,. Maybe in the future they will have a sport trim w/o the chrome. My other two cars both have sport trim almost no chrome and I think they look great. Looking forward to the next gen model S (and hoping I can afford it, lol). I'm really a huge fan of Tesla and the direction this company is going.

You can get Model S without the chrome diffuser and chrome exterior accents (in the front of the car by the fog lights) if you don't opt for the Premium Interior and Lighting package. I didn't know this until I went into a Tesla store and spotted a vehicle on display with a blacked out diffuser where the chrome should be. I asked the Product Specialist and he explained that the car was not equipped with the premium interior package and said I had a good eye .

You can verify this by going into the design studio on the Tesla website. Show the view where the back of the car is showing and then select the premium interior package. You'll see that the diffuser (the long piece under the rear bumper that turns into fins under the car which assists in aerodynamics) turns from black (I think it's plastic) to chrome. Same goes with the front view, look closely at the 2 horizontal parts that are right next to the fog and cornering lights. Door handles are still chrome without the premium interior pack.

I can confirm that. I didn't get the premium package for my 70D and it has glossy black instead of chrome accents which IMO looks 100% better. I was about to plastidip mine until I saw it was already black.

Before the got rid of the Tech Package those chrome accents was what distinguish the cars from having the tech package. They could have just call it a chrome package and let us choose if we wanted it.

I prefer the blackout as well. Especially on a black car. I special ordered my 2010 BMW AH7 to have blackout trim. Just the door handles are trimmed in chrome everything else high gloss black. I would have ordered my S85D that way if it had been an option. Will stick with the chrome for now any way. Pics of both of these cars from 8 days ago. BTW that top pic of my 2010 BMW AH7 has 135k miles on her. Passed it along to my SO for her daily 6 mile commute.
