The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Clean Cities Coalition is excited to be planning the DFW event for National Drive Electric Week!

This year’s DFW event will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 10:00am to 2:00pm in section 2C (between Neiman Marcus Last Call and Saks Off 5th) of the Grapevine Mills Mall parking lot.

10:00 am – Event Opening!
Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, charging infrastructure retailers, EV fleet representatives, North Texas environmental and electric vehicle advocacy organizations, and even an electricity-powered bicycle company will be set up and ready to answer all of your questions!

Additionally, start your day behind the wheel of an all-electric car! The Nissan Ride and Drive opportunity starts as soon as we do.

Exhibitors and Ride and Drives will be available throughout the entire event.

11:00 am – EV Check-In
All North Texas electric and plug-in electric vehicle owners are called to join the largest gathering of EVs in North Central Texas! Check in to get your EV Owner badge and show off your ride.

11:30 am – Official EV Count
It won’t be an official record, but it will surely be one for the books! Let’s show everyone how DFW does EV!

12:00 pm – The Car Guy Show
Tim Miller and crew, from DFW’s own The Car Guy Show will be on site to profile the event, talk to owners, and explore the world of EVs.

1:00 pm – Nissan Giveaway Drawing: Free LEAF for a Weekend!
All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a weekend with a Nissan Leaf. Stick around to see if you’re the lucky winner.

2:00 pm – Event Ends
The event wraps up and the packing up process begins. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated!

Additional activities throughout the event will include hands on displays for all ages to learn more about EVs and charging options, along with entertainment, snacks, and giveaways.

How to Make DFW’s National Drive Electric Week Even Better

  2. If you drive an EV, bring it (and register it for the event, too)!

SAVE THE DATE: National Drive Electric Week North Texas SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER ...

We're getting close to finalizing arrangements for this event.

In the meantime, let me share this picture SteveJust took at today's Solar Car Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway -- Volt, Focus Energi, Roadster, S and Leaf coexisting peacefully.

I can now share that we expect to have the event at Grapevine Mills near the Blink charging stations. This is an awesome location and with Simon Malls' help with in-mall publicity, we will get an extraordinary amount of foot traffic, exceeding what we had for Earth Day Texas. More details to come, but please make plans to attend! 10a-2p. If you'd like to be part of the record attempt, be here by 11am.

Register here, so the organizers can expect how many plan to attend: National Drive Electric Week Event - Dallas-Fort Worth

Only six Teslas registered. What the heck, beautiful people. It's Grapevine Mills and GrapeFest is just down the street. It's a big deal! :)

Met lots of new owners at the Anybody going to the Next Billion Tour? (Austin Southlake) today and let them know about this event. As a result, we already have more Teslas than Leafs attending (finally).

By the way, this event coincides with GrapeFest 2015 | Grapevine Wine Festival | Sept 17-20, 2015, the largest wine festival in the Southwest. After you're done showing off your car or talking EVs with other owners, take the free shuttle from Grapevine Mills to Grapevine Main Street for the festivities!

I wonder if anyone there will be a beta-tester for the AP features. I guess we'll know if they refuse to turn on their car...
