Part good news - cops got the kid that did it (from license plate) and gave him a couple charges......and now I hopefully won't have to pay for the repairs....(his insurance not mine)

Note:the truck that hit me was worth about half the price of a hardtop

Will update the when, the how and the cost to get this all back as it was...... I expect in the months but we will see....

Nothing bugs my ass more that gutless people who bugger off after hitting someone's car...should be mandatory 20 lashes followed up with 100,000 hours of community service work + full restitution of physical damages to the vehicle + a monetary award for you considering your "loss of enjoyment" of the vehicle whilst off the road for repairs.

Sorry for the rant, but these types of accidents happen far too often!

I am so happy that they actually got the guy, are you kidding me!? Honestly I didn't think the police would be able to track him down. Nice work they did. I'm so glad your Roadster will be restored to the normal condition!

Speaking from experience ... that looks like about $30,000 of damage.

And don't forget to get a payment for reduced value. On top of the repairs done, you should get a check for $10,000+ for the reduced value of your car since it's been in an accident and no longer worth as much.

It's amazing that they found the guy. I can only guess at how many of these cases don't have witnesses or get caught on camera.

Up here, it's pretty rare that the offenders get caught...from my experience, under 10% of the time...
