New Tesla + EV Chargers in Cripple Creek CO

Here's some news: The city of Cripple Creek, CO, is in the midst of installing SEVERAL EV chargers within the city. Cripple Creek is one of only THREE Colorado towns with legalized casino gambling. As of now, there are FOUR chargers installed, with TWO operational. There are two chargers at each location, a Tesla HPWC, and a Clipper Creek J1772 universal charger. The operational set is located at the City of CC parking lot, directly across Bennett Ave from the CC City Hall. The HPWC will do 40 amps at this time, the Clipper Creek will do 32 amps.

The other set of chargers are installed but the power is not connected quite yet, the electrician is awaiting a breaker. This second set of chargers is located on a power pole in the North parking lot at the Wildwood Casino. There will be additional chargers in the city, and CC is planning on having some kind of an EV rally or festival this summer.

The chargers are for VISITORS only, please move your car when charging is complete. If you use the chargers, please tell the clerks in City Hall thanks for the chargers. I will keep you updated. Mac

Hey! Good news! We just visited Cripple Creek yesterday and all four chargers are now operational! The two chargers at the Wildwood Casino are working and BOTH Tesla HPWCs at BOTH locations are now operating at 80 amps! The Clipper Creek charger at the Wildwood is now operational at 32 amps. BTW, the owners of the 9494 Shops, Bill and Chris, were instrumental in bringing EV charging to Cripple Creek. Drop by their store and tell them thanks! Mac

I resurrected this thread because I have yet more NEWS! At present, there are Tesla HPWCs in three locations: 1. Wildwood Casino, 2. City of Cripple Creek parking lot, 3. Carr Manor Inn. The first two locations ALSO have a co-located J1772 universal charger. Here is the NEWS:

There is another location under construction! Conduit is in and it appears that it will be operational any day now. It is at the Century Casino, 200 E. Bennett Ave, Cripple Creek. The charger is located directly WEST of the main casino, in one of the Century Casino parking lots. There will be one HPWC plus one Clipper Creek J1772 universal charger. Once I have verified that the units are operational, I will post it here and on Plugshare. SEVEN chargers in one small town! Way to go, Cripple Creek!! Mac

As I promised, I'm back! Both of the new Cripple Creek chargers are now working! Both chargers are at the Century Casino. The HPWC does 80 amps, and the Clipper Creek J1772 charger does 32 amps. Note: Both these locations are at 212 volts, not 240 volts. Therefore, they are a little slower than the other chargers in Cripple Creek. Nice going! Mac
