FREE “What is the Electric Car?” Event at Kern County Beale Memorial Library

Attention Kern County residents, media and elected officials - you are
invited to a FREE Electric Car event at the Kern County Beale Memorial
Library, 701 Truxtun Ave. in Bakersfield on Thursday, April 30th from
5:30pm – 7:00pm, hosted by the Kern County Library and EVPerks.com. The
evening features a Q & A panel featuring several of the book authors and
local electric car owners. Following the panel presentation, several
authors of the new book “What Is the Electric Car? 79 REASONS to Drive
Electric” will be present to autograph books. This is a chance to meet the
authors and speak to them about electric vehicles. There will be almost a
dozen electric vehicles on display, including new 2015 models. Members of
the Electric Auto Association and Plug In America will answer questions
about the newest electric vehicles (and plug-in hybrids). In addition to
the electric vehicle display, this family friendly event (open to all
ages) includes free drawings with more than $500 in prizes, including
restaurant gift cards, car washes, books, DVDs, magazines and artwork .
Proceeds will go to the Beale Library. Free food and beverages will be
served on a limited basis.
The book is a spin-off of the documentary film that was voted a Dove
Foundation Award and given the coveted Dove “Family Approved” Seal of
Approval, receiving five (5) out of five (5) Doves. The brand new book
features chapters (including funny stories and witty anecdotes) from the
following contributing authors: Jay Leno, Larry Hagman, Fabio, Alexandra
Paul, Peter Horton, Leilani Münter, Nancy Cartwright, Richard Battersby,
Michael Brune, Dave Beltrami, Aaron Berger, Goering Castro, Audrey & Steve
