Icon6 Taking Delivery of Model S

While this may be a little premature, some of you probably already have some insight.

I asked the NY store representative how customers would take delivery. He was not certain.

Currently, Roadsters are delivered to a specific home. Delivery of Model S in this manner may not be feasible due to the potentially larger customer base. Anyone know if they will have the option of picking up Model S at a Tesla store? Is delivery bundled into the price?

I envision taking a train ride into Manhattan and having the biggest grin driving home in my Model S.

well, I'm planing to drive my ICE down to the dealer and leave the car in front of the store with the keys and pink slip, with a small sign "obsolete technology"

I'm sure you have the option of picking it up at a Tesla store but the delivery charge isn't built into the price of the car for the Roadster. I imagine they'll still have to deliver many of them since if you live 1000 miles from the nearest Tesla store and get the 160 mile pack, it'd take awhile to drive it home. Just a guess though.

I would fly to Menlo Park (or wherever) to pick it up and drive it home. I've done it before, LA fly SF drive back.

The world loves to be deceived.

I would love a tour of the Fremont factory and the Palo Alto HQ, akin to the BMW/MB "european delivery" experience. Then drive it home.

    LOL... That's perfect.

But seriously... I would think delivery to the store nearest you or home delivery at a cost to the owner.
