85D Whistling / Whirring High-Pitched Noise

My 85D makes a whistling / whirring high-pitched noise, which I don't remember from my test drive on a P85.

When I accelerate, the noise increases in pitch/volume and that is kind of cool. However, when I am cruising at a semi-constant speed, it can be quite annoying.

Below 10 mph, it is not loud enough. Above 60 mph or so, the tire and wind noises sort of "cover" it.

The noise was reduced by the most recent SW update, but it is still there.

Does anybody have any insight of where this noise is coming from? The gears, the electric motor, the inverter? Front or back drive unit? Problem introduced with D models or was it always there and I did not notice on my test drive?

Any insight would be appreciated so that I can discuss it with the SC.

Thanks much!
