Latest vehicle registration data from HMG is out on their website:- 'Table VEH0128
Vehicles make and generic model name, Great Britain, quarterly from 1994'

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/420353/veh0128.xls

~223 MS' were registered in the UK during Q4 of 2014 compared with 282 during Q3 and 191 in Q2 (none before that of course).

It's a shame all governments don't provide this data (perhaps they do?). But, why do we have to wait nearly 4 months for it? MW

Based on Q3/Q4 it looks like there'll be around 2350 by the end of 2015.

Did you mean 1350? It 1049 at the end of Q2. Sales were 144 in Q2. That would be 288 estimated sales for Q3+Q4, bringing the total to 1049+288= 1337. The situation is like this:

Using Q1/Q2 sales to predict Q3/Q4 is completely inappropriate for the situation in the UK: Q1/Q2 sales were very depressed since most people ordering before the 'D' announcement already had their cars delivered by the end of Q4 '14, while many people ordering after the 'D' announcement ordered 'D' models which were not available in RHD until Q3.

So there's a significant backlog of orders that would normally have been delivered Q1/Q2 but are now expected to be delivered in Q3/Q4, while more recent orders should also be delivered without that extra delay - giving a surge in Q3/Q4.

I don't have any numbers to predict how big that surge might be.

No I mean 2350.

TMUK are currently delivering about 300 cars per month - delivery volumes are through the roof. West Drayton alone is doing 10 per day.

The delays on the D models basically killed UK deliveries for six months, but now they're catching up on the order backlog.

Reservation numbers and VINs are assigned randomly via Tesla, there is no way to guess how eitherequate to number of cars made

This is not the "reservation number" you see on the dashboard. Some clever chap over on speakev.com noticed that if you have a reservation then in the "My Tesla" pages there's a button where you can click to add a 4 year servicing package. And when you click that, at the bottom of service signup page there's a footer that lists your VIN and also a never before seen "GB#XXXX" sequence number.

Those numbers appear to increment in strict order of reservation (two friends ordered their cars moments apart and their GB# numbers are adjacent).

My P90D (being delivered in about 3 weeks) is GB#1956 (and I've managed to figure out that my original P85 was GB#365).

The people who are being told "in time for Christmas" delivery have GB# numbers in the 2300s so I am pretty confident about my end of year guess.

The current order rate isn't as fast as the current delivery rate though; Q3 and Q4 2015 will be bumper quarters but volumes will fall back a little in early 2016 I'd say.

Very cute! Mine is 2013, and I'm expecting delivery around November 13th.

No reason has been given. I've asked repeatedly but as with most communications with Tesla since my order was confirmed, I hear mostly silence.

Just a guess but it may be that Tesla wait until they have a certain number of cars built for UK orders and then ship them at the same time to reduce cost. Or maybe there is something about the specification that has caused a delay due to parts shortage? Until Tesla confirm it's anyone's guess as to why.

Min is 2,371 and delivery hasn't been confirmed beyond "January". The original delivery quoted was early November so I'm hoping it doesn't slip more as January will be the 7 month mark from order confirmation.

I'm surprised; I'd have expected december.
I confirmed middle of June, so I'm getting 5 months.
