70D vs. 85 in HP and zero to sixty

S85 gets around 4.9 in real world testing. I think the rated performance specs are mostly just marketing to persuade people to go with a dual motor car. I would suspect that the 70D and S85 will be essentially identical in actual testing.

I think the S85 also went up, on the website, from 5.2, to 5.4. If the 70D matches the 85, I'd bet we see a faster 0-30, and a slower 30-60. The 60kwh car had worse roll-on, with real world 0-60 around 5.9 seconds. With battery size comes discharge and power potential. If you're planning on giving up 15kwh, of that 25kwh difference, don't plan on it coming without a sacrifice, in more than just range.

I think the easiest way to remember Tesla's fading RWD history is 5.9, 4.9 and 3.9, for each P, 85 and 60.
