Tesla factory in Fremont (was NUMMI)

Today ownership is official. There are cars in the lot, though apparently shops and for framing and paint are still being worked out.

Interesting piece of info during the last few seconds of the report. They expect to produce 7000 Model S in 2012 and 20000 the following year.

My thoughts exactly. Would normally get white sedan and red sports car but since I went with the Arctic White for the Roadster, I'm thinking this color is the way to go. I hope they offer it for the Model S. Wonder what it looks like with the forged black wheels too.

Does anyone know the time frame for delivery and installation of the new presses?
After the delivery and install of the presses, how long would it take to begin forming metal at the factory?
Has anyone seen any pictures of the welding robots?
How many robots will be used to put together the panels?
Has Tesla Motors talked about the total time for producing a Model S?
Has Tesla Motors talked about its supply chain partners and there readiness?

How many robots will be used to put together the panels? Tesla Motors did not provided a total number of robots that will be used to construct the sheet metal of the Model S.
