Where to even begin?

-P85D base price of $105k without destination fees (previously $106k and change included destination fees)
-85D base price of $85k without destination fees (previously $86k and change included destination fees)
-85 base price of $80k without destination fees (previously $81k and change included destination fees)
-70D is new option for $75k without destination fees. 60 gone, replaced with 70D for only $4000 more that the old 60 (previously $61k and change included destinations fees); supercharging included too!

-P85D acceleration now officially 3.1 seconds. Did that come with Firmware 6.2?
-85D acceleration improved to 4.4 seconds! Horsepower up to 422HP (previously 376). Now competitive with Audi S7! Firmware upgrade?
-70D acceleration 5.2 seconds, same as the 85D previously.

-Tech Package gone, many of the former tech packages items are now standard (keyless entry, folding heated side mirrors, LED daytime running lights, homelink) or moved to premium package (see below)
-Auto Pilot separated into the upcoming convenience features ($2500 option that can be activated after delivery for $3000) and standard features (wonder if you don't get this, do you get standard non-adaptive cruise control?) - I like this approach. Why pay for features that aren't even on yet?
-Premium Package $5000 includes the old Premium Interior plus LED corning lights, lighted door handles, and power liftgate
-New colors (warm silver metallic, ocean blue metallic, obsidian black metallic), all $1000 options
-Loan pricing disappeared
-P85D top speed and performance disclaimer text gone
-gas savings price shown again on the model selector (don't like this, please show both or the pre-savings price)
-rear facing seats increased to $3000 (was $2500)
-panoroof decreased to $1500 (was $2500)
-21" silver turbine wheels only available with P85D!
-standard leather seats are now $1750 (was $1500)
-black alcantara now $1500 and white alcantara now $750 (both previously $1000?)
-interior photo is from a new angle, IMO meant to hide the fact that the NextGen seat option doesn't come with NextGen rear seats.

That's fair if mods want to move this, but every time there are design studio changes, there is usually a thread discussing the actual design studio changes. Versus the other thread is more a discussion of the announcement in general and the 70D.

Chrome did this to me at first as well, then i logged in with a new chrome user profile it loaded fine.

Since I'm within my week time-frame before my order's locked in, I'm really confused about this. Redesigning my car shows me the old options, but I think (I need to play around some more) that the new options make my config a couple thousand dollars cheaper. Do I need to cancel and re-order to get the new pricing? Do I lose my $2500 if I do that in the first week?

Best to call Tesla and they can help you move the order over to the new pricing scheme. Generally, all low to mid end configurations will be cheaper than they were yesterday.

Only Tesla can answer your questions with any degree of reliability. Everyone here would just be guessing. Call Tesla.

Thanks! Spoke to my specialist and he says I am grandfathered in on old pricing currently. They can switch my personal design studio over to the new setup if I want, but I won't be able to go back to the old options once they do it. Gonna need to take a closer look and see what I'd be gaining/losing before deciding on that...

To be clear, you were within the 1-week window, right? I'm just outside of that (by 3 days), waiting on a call back from my specialist. Not sure how it was handled in the past.

My DS agreed that the current usual policy would go into effect - ie $500 change fee and the entire new price sheet and option packages apply. I confirmed today at 3AM EST or of course midnight CA time.

I think you are comparing old prices with the "destination and regulatory doc fee" with the new prices without the fee. The fee is $1,200. Apples to apples, the bases prices are basically the same, and the 70D starts for $5,000 more than what the 60 started for.

Yeah, that was pretty sneaky of them. Though to be fair, that's the same way all other manufacturers advertise their base prices. I guess Tesla was just changing it to be consistent with industry practice.

I was told I could cancel my order (in the queue right now) and apply my down payment to a new design studio configuration... at no penalty. However, after looking at what is included in each package, I've pretty much decided to stick with what I have, even though it looks a little more pricey. I've got some features that are now included with stuff I don't want and I'd end up paying more. So the question is whether I want to go with less and save or stick with my configuration.

I can see why they don't let people cherry-pick new cheaper options (eg pano roof) and then try to keep their other old options. I do have a problem with having to change most previously selected options, just to get one of the new colors with zero other changes.

I agree there. Pricing is one thing, but to not allow a color change for an order that otherwise remains the same and isn't even locked does not put the customer first. Note that I don't expect Tesla to put the customer first, but it would be nice without really impacting anything for just a simple color change. Perhaps beeeerock could write an email to Jerome asking if they would be goodwill willing to apply Ocean Blue to his car (he is paying $1k for blue after all anyways) and otherwise leave the order changed?

If I can't opt out of the fee, it shouldn't be itemised out.
The only excuse for charging a destination fee would be if you can avoid it by picking up at the factory. (Which we know is not the case)

These added mandatory fees are one of the big complaints with the traditional car dealer model, Tesla was supposed to be different.
