Elon's rebuttal to quote from a Baidu scientist saying AI safety was not necessary was quite good. Bill Gates backed Elon completely, and recommended Bostrom's "Super Intellegence" book.

Does B.G. feel guilty?

If Bill Gates did not have Apple (and others) to copy from, Microsoft would never been successful as it became. Specially in the nineties when Bill Gates actually invested in Apple when Apple was virtually on the brink of bankrupcy. To me it seemed that B.G. saved Apple so he could continue to get ideas from. Just remember how many lawsuits Apple had with Microsoft.
