AAA EV Charging Station in Fort Wright KY

An even more important question is what kind of charging equipment? One would think that a post about "AAA's first electric vehicle charging station" by someone affiliated with it would include a description. Is this J1772? If so, how many amps? Or is it Chademo or CCS? Or both?
 
Based on the address, it looks like a pair of free ChargePoint J1772 plugs. They're 6.6kW (presumably 30A 208V) according to chargepoint.com, and here they are on PlugShare:

If it's the first of many for AAA, that's great, but I really hope they concentrate on higher-amp L2 and/or L3 for future stations, especially any in retail locations.

So they're almost useless. Why are people still putting in new installations of 6.6kW charging stations? That was the minimum requirement for stimulus funding 6 years ago, so that's what we got, but now it's long past time that all new J1772s should be high amp.

Maybe not useless for other EVs, but close to useless for a Tesla, which begs the question of why AAA is posting about this to a Tesla forum. I agree -- 40A / 10kW should be a bare minimum nowadays for public L2, and I have to imagine most commercial locations could handle (and therefore should install) 80A / 20kW.

AAA, if you're listening, please consider more powerful chargers if/when you install more. L3 is expensive (though would be greatly appreciated!), but the incremental cost of high-amp L2 vs. what you installed in Kentucky should be quite low.
 
Thank you AAA and Bob Sumerel Tire Service! This is the first truly public EV charging station in the area, south of Cincinnati. There are other Level 2 stations in the area but they are all either car dealerships (possible drama or inaccessibility) or long-term parking for the airport.

This is a welcome addition! There are almost no public charging stations in Northern Kentucky. Just a few in Cincinnati/S.E. Ohio!

It may only be 6.6kw but that's better than nothing!
