Speaking (or typing) with the "To Do" verb drives me up a wall

My wife grew up in one of those terrible homes. You know the ones. Where people say "It's needs cleaned." Or "The car needs washed." Or "The Tesla needs serviced." It's like child abuse only it affects more people since they spread it publicly.

You have two choices. Either is just fine by me.

A) IT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED.

B) IT NEEDS CLEANING.

"It needs cleaned" is the worst atrocity I've ever experienced in my life. Let's not share this horrible affliction to the next generation. Let it die with us. We can do this.
