So I just got the "your Model S is about to enter production" email from my DS. I originally had an 85 on order, then changed to 85D when the Ds got announced, then a few weeks ago asked to change to the P85D after a couple of euphoric test drives.
With that euphoria in the relatively distant past, this imminence of production is making me question whether I've seriously lost my mind. Only a few years ago I was perfectly content with my little 2.0T Audi A4, and could not have imagined spending 120K on a 3.1 second, 691HP, Hellcat-slaing drag strip electric monster. With baby seats in the back. For the sedate streets of the Chicago suburbs, and the occasional congested freeway run downtown.
It's obviously past the point of no return now, so all you people with P85Ds in your garages, please just tell me that it's totally worth it, and that you'd do it again.
