Hawaii 2015 Legislative Session - EV related Bills

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
So the introducers of the bill are Tulsi Gabbard, Michelle Kidani, Will Espero, Breene Harimoto, Les Ihara and Clarence Nishihara.
Any recommendations about what to write these senators to show our support for the bill?

Some other bills..

Provides a general excise tax exemption on gross proceeds received from the construction, sale, installation, service, repair, modification, improvement, or lease of clean alternative fuel vehicles, electric vehicle batteries, and electrical vehicle infrastructure. Repeals January 1, 2019.

- GET exemption...interesting that they reference battery exchange stations.

Clarifies the electric vehicle parking fee exemption for metered and non-metered state or county parking stalls.

- there's a section about a 24 hour limit for non-metered daily, weekly, monthly parking...not sure if this would apply to airport parking.

RELATING TO FUEL CELL ELECTRIC VEHICLES.
Add fuel cell vehicles to EV definition.

The legalese is a bit confusing for me. Is that first bill proposing to make EV's exempt from GET?

How To Submit Testimony

For those that are interested in supporting any of these measures, the easiest way to do that is to submit testimony online in SUPPORT of the bill when it comes before a senate or house committee that hears it. You can find out more on how to submit testimony on the attached PDF from the capitol website. When you submit testimony, be sure to include your residence address so the legislators on the committee will know if you are in their district or not. They tend to pay more attention to testimony from their constituents.
