Rear Facing Seats - 3rd Row Seats

We're expecting our third child in the next few months. Looks like we'll need some third row seating.

Is this possible? I thought it requires a factory subframe.

His VIN is early enough that he has the steel cross-member in his car. I'm 4375 and I had mine retrofitted.

it doesn't matter. the steel cross member can be added to cars that are missing it. all cars are retrofittable for the rear child seats.

According to the Dania Beach Service Center, they will retrofit rear facing seats on any car that has a VIN higher than 5,500, but at a significant cost due to the steel cross-member that needs to be added to the rear bumper. This usually puts the install out of the "making sense" territory.

DJ, what is the cost of doing the cross-member, if you don't mind me asking. I have a sub 5500 VIN P85 on the way and have thought about the retrofit as well.

They didn't give an exact figure but ballparked it as an additional $2k.
