Hey All,
I picked up by Pearl White S85 on Saturday and wanted to get PPF on it before I become the victim of a rock chip. I am planning to use one of the four providers below. Any recommendation on pricing and who to go with/stay away from?

1. AccuTint of Seattle in Sodo. Quote: $1400 + 10% food drive discount
2. NW Auto Armor in Lynnwood. Quote: $1545. Might be some additional discounts as well.
3. NW Auto Salon in Lynnwood. Quote: pending. Website seems to suggest $1700
4. Metropolitan Detail. Quote: pending. Website seems to suggest $2200

All of the above pricing is before taxes. Have any of you used these guys? Any others I should be considering?

Thanks.
Sachin

That is almost certainly for partial coverage only, maybe the front. Metro detail charges around $8,000 for full XPEL coverage I thought. NW Auto Salon was slightly cheaper if I remember correctly.

I used Metro and they did a fantastic job!! I got the full wrap and you'd be shocked at what you might think is overkill. I originally only went with the front and then the quarter panels were getting a bit eaten up so went back and went full wrap.

Some nice things about metro...tesla loaner while they have your car....free waxes for the life of ppf with paid wash $50 but SO worth it in our area! (Only needs to be done every 3 months and the ppf wax alone is over $100 elsewhere. They also do a minor detail at the same time. They are a bit more expensive but IMHO it was worth every penny.

Not sure about the Accutint Seattle but I got my full front, rear bumper loading area and rear panel inside the door (my 3 year old uses it to get in) at Accutint Bellevue for $1500 also got opti coat and opti wheels for $500.. My red MS is there on their FB page.

I'm thinking of going "full wrap" on my car. I got a quote from North West Auto Salon a few weeks ago of $7,000 + tax. It's really expensive but:
1. Protect side panels/doors from careless owners who let their open door rub against the car
2. Prevent micro-swirling on the black paint
3. Extra peace of mind.

Just sent a request to Metropolitan for a quote as well. The free wax with paid wash is interesting but I wouldn't pay $1,000 extra for it, especially since I don't live on the Eastside.
Unless Metropolitan does a distinctly better job at the install than NWAS... and from what I can tell they both seem to be very high quality installers.

That's a great price KoolJack. Would you recommend them? My Tesla delivery specialist was the one who recommended Accutint in Seattle. In fact they are very close to the Seattle service center where I picked up the car.

I heard back from both NWAS and Metropolitan Detail and here are their quotes.
NWAS = $1895 for Full Front + $90 Rear Bumper + $125 Rear Wheel Arches = $2110
Metropolitan Detail = $2295 + $90 (top of rear bumper) + $110 (rear wheelarches) = $2495. They may also offer a 10% discount if you have a Microsoft Prime card.

My own experience with Accutint

I would recommend Bellevue one, I see Ferrari's from Seattle are sent there instead of the Seattle shop. Bellevue Accutint do prime card, my prices are after prime discount.

I would recommend Bellevue too. I spent some time with J, the owner, today. Very personable and after walking me through all the various options, I let him him a go in my p85d. Very different beast to his Porsche. He loved it and definitely understood the appeal ;-)

As mentioned it is common to see the local Bellevue dealers use them for Ferrari's, Maseratis, Rolls Royce and a few Teslas. They also are on Angie's list, with lots of glowing reviews.

I'm getting similar package as mentioned (full front, bumper, opti coat, etc), and adding on carbon fiber vinyl for nosecone and turn indicators in CF too. Pricing in same ballpark, module additions.

Additionally getting 30% pinnacle tint on windows (and thinking of 80% on front screen). Anyone have any experiences to share on this? My car is the metallic gray.

Car is going in shop in just over a week, so any items I must change please let me know :)Hope this helps, and good luck OP.

ps, I asked re full wrap and it's in "~5.5 - 6k", more expensive if all CF vinyl :p. ymmv.

Thanks guys. I called Accutint of Bellevue yesterday to get pricing and here is what they quoted:
Partial Front Kit (about a 4-5 hour process)

download

  • Headlights
  • Front Bumper
  • Partial hood (front portion)
  • Partial fenders (front portion)
  • Side-view mirrors
  • Door cups
  • Door edges
$799 ( $679.15 with 15% AAA or PRIME Card Discount)

Full Front Kit: (leave car overnight, pick up the following morning)

download

  • Headlights
  • Front Bumper
  • Full Hood
  • Full Fenders
  • Side-view mirrors
  • Door cups
  • Door edges
  • Rear Bumper Top
$1999 ( $1699.15 with 15% AAA or PRIME Card Discount)

After I mentioned that someone on this forum got the full front kit for $1500 and that I had a Prime card, they offered to do it for $1650 and a free super hand wash voucher.
I wish they would have offered the original price that Kooljack received, but didn't feel like pressing further.
My car is going in on Monday. I'm taking a trip to Vancouver this weekend and will have to take the wife's MDX as I don't want to risk a chip on the drive up.

Thanks for all your feedback. I guess I will be researching window tint next. It doesn't end does it? :)

Sorry, you got a great deal, i paid around 1650 for the full front... i did get opt coat and opti wheels and xpel inside the rear doors so my total was 2800 after tax and got my windows tinted today .. its still healing.

Also noticed there was a rock chip and the XPEL took the hit.

I was so tempted to drive away a white P85D parked there with CF nose.. as i was given its key fob instead of mine by mistake :)

Always good to let them know what they've offered others. I know earlier in Dec they had a special on and maybe pricing got combined for a lower price? Dunno, though agree it would be nicer to just say prime card (or AAA (which I hadn't realized was another) and get no haggle price. I think you did... Just 1500 was a screamin' deal ;-)

Tint looking nice there kooljack. That the 30?

Happy to hear xpel did its job, though does that now get patched, or does it heal or ? i'm still nursing mine until I can leave it to get done the week after next.

The white p85d with the CF nosecone was there when I visited too. I parked my p85d (gray) a couple of spaces down. The job they did on that white nosecone persuaded me to get it done too; I also showed them the CF side flasher vinyls and they will do this too.

J took a photo of the 2 p85ds from the roof opposite to put on their FB page at some point.
