2015 Tesla Model S 85 - Opti-Coat Pro - Oklahoma

Had a client contact me about protecting his Tesla Model S and he wanted a ceramic coating. He had done a lot of research on-line and was set on having opti-coat applied to the vehicle. He plans on putting many miles on the car and having it for many years to come, longevity was the key factor.

After going back and forth on a drop off date, we were finally able to work a date out. The customer had been driving the vehicle for a week since taking delivery of it and had already put on 1200 miles. The condition that I received the car in was far from new car status. I found several rock chips, car covered in water spots that would not wipe away, and crazy swirls and holograms on both fenders and doors (manufacture installed i assume). Needless to say my work was cut out for me. I was able to restore this new car back to its new condition and deliver it to the client looking better then the day he took delivery, just a short, rough, week ago. Enjoy.

I'm curious how many other owners have had similar paint issues upon delivery?

Your new car or any car shouldn't have these

@m3nke, your head subject title shows "2015 Tesla Model S..." You should be aware that Tesla does not use conventional automotive model years. The first "2015" Model S will come off the production line on January 1, 2015. All cars currently being built are 2014 vehicles. Tesla improves their cars continually without regard to model year designations.

Back to your post: there are a number of existing threads about some new owners having their cars detailed and paint corrected as you describe. Others, like me, have no complaints about their paint and treat the car just like every other car we've owned: we drive it and wash it and enjoy it just as it is!

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware that Tesla did their model years like that.

It's not so much the paint but the fact that these flaws were left on the vehicle and delivered to the customer like that. I just expected something better I suppose. However, no worries as it is better then new and protected for many years to come.

Mine sure didn't come like that, but yes other owners have posted pictures of these sorts of problems in their paint. I did have XPEL Ultimate and Opti-Coat Pro put on mine.

Even if you want to consider the cars with Autopilot on them to be essentially 2015s this vehicle doesn't qualify as it's missing the sensors.

You sir have the best protection I could think of, both great choices in products. Only other option I would say over opti-coat is Cquartz Finest
