While it's an inexact number that can be influenced many ways (turnover, factory construction, etc.), it would be interesting to follow Tesla's overall job postings numbers to get a sense for potential growth. As of today, there are 1,659 job postings on their website. Anyone know of any other numbers from the past? Sort of fascinating to read through the detail too, gives a window into the future. Lots of exciting stuff.

I started following Tesla on March 30, 2014 after the 60 Minutes story. I believe it was around 1100. For some reason 1114 sticks in my head.

This is actually a great idea for a metric that could give interesting information over time. Perhaps anyone interested from time to time could post numbers, from the website, in this thread, as a historic record. It would be easy to chart or graph it later.

Ha! It went up 12 in 5 hours! That means nearly 60 a day, 400 a week, 1,700 a month (OK getting carried away). However, with Gigafactory and line expansions at Fremont, lots in the next few years. Then add Chinese car and battery factories and Katie bar the door...

Total listing doesn't add much to issue of growth. Are these all new listings? We're previous positions filled? If so any jobs listed would still be an increase. If they are slow to fill positions and same ones still offered it could be less impressive

I assume it's 90% the same positions as one month ago, not filled. I think it might give some data, over time, on where Tesla are planning on doing most expansion.

BTW you're very welcome to track each listing individually :)

Not interested in doing so. Just mentioned how it could be misleading. Even what appears to be the same position could be additional jobs with the same description. I have always maintained that bad data is worse than no data

Tesla China posted a Weibo today that 500th employee joined the company. It's significant growth in the past 12 months and I believe it was only 20-30 headcounts in last year end. No one denies that TM is still fast growing in global expansion and supercharger network except the production ramp up behind the schedule.
