After seeing this post ProClip mount: any Model S Owner in/near Madison, WI? - Page 2, I ordered the console-mounted base with an adjustable holder that fit my phone in its case. I had waited a year to in the hope that the NAV and Bluetooth would work well enough that I wouldn't regularly use my phone in the car. The NAV is a Tesla problem, and the Bluetooth is a phone (podcast app) problem, but it doesn't matter now that I can easily access my phone while (safely) driving.
I also considered their vent mount, but the steering wheel would impede my access to the phone. Also, their pedestal mounts look very functional and would allow mounting at an arbitrary location above the yacht floor, but the console screen clip mount is much easier and just fine for me.
My only complaint is that the clip attaches so firmly that removing it without damaging the screen surround might need a tool to pry it free.
