New 1.5 owner here. In cleaning the interior I'm unclear on which parts are metal and can tolerate a metal polish.
Door unlock handles: obviously chrome, so they can be polished.
Door pulls, the silver part: aluminum? Mine have tiny dark spots on them. Not sure how aggressive I can be in attempting to polish out those spots.
Center console top surface: aluminum or painted plastic? Sounds like aluminum when I tap on it.
Center console knobs: not sure if they are aluminum or plastic.
Gear shift knob: appears to be aluminum.
Gear shift shaft: definitely steel. Chrome plated or just highly polished? I think the latter.
Wide silver tray (instead of a glovebox): appears to be aluminum.
Pedals, brake and accelerator: aluminum?
Forward wall of driver and passenger foot wells: aluminum?
Thanks!
