Another great resource is a countryman of yours, and a member of this forum. His name is Malcolm Wilson. He has some good powerpoint presentations of Tesla's early history. Wait a sec, here it is:

Also, you may want to do a search for a pdf file called "The 21st Century Electric Car" which explains some of the rationale behind starting TM.
