2000 Citrus Honda Insight 5-speed 61/70+mpg, 80k miles, just replaced HV battery, with warranty!
This is the highest mpg car, ever mass produced by any company, ever, worldwide! It is my 2000 Honda Insight 5-speed in the super rare citrus color. There were only 300 Insights made in this color, and only in the 2000 model year. The car has 80k original miles, and is from North Carolina! Ice cold a/c. The car has no problems and runs perfectly. As those of you who are familiar with the first generation insights know, this car is all aluminum, including the frame. They do NOT rust at all! There are no rips or tears in the car's seats (new seats.) Everything works as it should! These cars last; and all go over 300k miles (lifetime-wise.) In fact, one just recently sold with 440k miles on the original motor and transmission! (It's a Honda!) It has a clean NYS title, with no liens, in my name. I have done a ton of work to this insight to get it back up to where it belongs. Here's just some of the list of stuff I've worked on and/or replaced: transmission, clutch, pressure plate, clutch master cylinder, axles, front hubs, front bearings, tie rods, ball joints, brake rotors, ceramic brake pads, under body panels, windshield, a-pillar trims and proper clips, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, transmission mount, wiper arms, wipers, rear trunk actuator, hatch struts, all carpeting, seats, headliner, visors, stock Honda am/fm/cassette stereo with rare 4 speaker option, door rubber, outside door to window trim, side mirror mounts, shifter knob, shifter cable, upper o2 sensor, exhaust gaskets, plugs, pedal covers, grid charger harness, new high voltage battery pack with warranty, 12v battery, a/c serviced (ice cold,) clutch fluid, transmission fluid, mobil 1 0w20 oil and filter, correct bridgestone re92 low rolling resistance tires, freshly painted hood and roof (was sun faded from the N.C. sun!) and tons more. I just took a 400 mile trip to Ohio and averaged 74 mpg. I have the car perfectly tuned up. Starts, drives, shifts, assists, regens perfectly. Want to get 750 miles on 10 gallons of gas? No other car comes close to this kind of mpg. Come and see it, and drive it. I'm quite certain the first person to do so will not only be extremely impressed, but will in fact buy the car! You will absolutely LOVE this Insight; it is super easy and super fun to drive too! My best trip was an 1160 mile trip from Arkansas, in which I averaged 82.4 mpg! The ULTIMATE commuter car, and absolutely phenomenal sailing on the thruway! I get asked about it all the time, as there were only a total of 12,000 of these insights made through all 7 years (2000-06.) Only half of these 12,000 first generation insights were the 5 speeds, which get the crazy 61/70+ mpg's. The automatics got about 20 mpg less; not even close to the standards. It is extremely futuristic looking and extremely aerodynamic with the lowest coefficient of drag of any mass produced car (cd of just .19.) Stored in my heated garage when not being driven, too! No leaks, perfect engine, perfect transmission and drive line, perfectly stock, minus the addition of a grid charger harness for maintaining the battery pack. Warranty on the new battery pack too! 1 of only 300 in the citrus color. A great collector vehicle with pretty big upside potential, or a daily driver that will be reliable for years to come. No dents. All digital dash. Garage kept. This is where the old saying "You get what you pay for," holds quite true! Thanks for looking! Chris
