Electric Chevy S-10 Truck for sale - New Batteries
This is a quality home converted Chevy S-10 currently located in the south Chicago suburb of Crest Hill. It is in excellent running condition with new batteries and a new power brake system.
It uses 24 lead acid batteries and has a 5 speed manual transmission. This is the truck that convinced me that electric cars were definitely for me.
Who should buy this truck? Someone should buy this who needs a short range electric utility vehicle. Do buy it if the place where you will use it is mostly flat. This truck does not like steep hills. Don't buy it if you need to do much high speed driving.
Range is probably 50 miles with new batteries and it HAS new batteries. This truck likes to be operated in a flat area at up to 50 mph or so, although it will cheerfully go 65 mph for a short time.
Why am I selling it? I travel way too much and this is not being used as much as it should be used.
Manual (not power) steering so it feels like a heavy truck. Acceleration is about like a stock S-10.
Truck has been carefully and recently inspected a professional EV builder and is currently being maintained by the professional EV builder.
Truck includes tow bar and J-1772 adapter cable.
Call John Emde to see the car. He's not the owner but he can show it to you. His phone number is 630-624-7579. It's located in Crest Hill, Illinois near Joliet, South of Chicago.
If you wanted to build a EV truck like this it would cost you about $12,000 just for the parts plus the donor truck. At $5,000 with new batteries this is a deal.
