Victoria BC Canada
Victoria has registered for the first time this year as a National Drive Electric Week area (Sept 15-21, 2014). We need help from all EV owners (even Tesla owners!!), and because there is lots to volunteer for that does not involve owning an EV, we also encourage non-EV-owners who are interested to sign up.

Please register here as a volunteer or attendee: National Drive Electric Week Event - Victoria

There is more information on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DriveElectricVictoria

Re volunteering, there are many things that don't involve much time commitment -- e.g.:
Mon-Sat: approximately 3-4 hour commitment with your EV, to be one of the "EVs in the Wild". We hope to have up to 3 different sites per day with 2 or 3 parked EVs and their owners available to
a) display their EV
b) answer questions
c) look good*
(* c) is optional!!)

Sun Sep 21: owners can offer their vehicle for either or both
a) Test drive (5 minutes around Ring Road back to the UVic #4 parking lot)
b) Turismo ride (owner drives approximately 20-minute scenic route with passengers)

We also need volunteers to help sign people up, manage traffic etc at the Sunday event in UVic's #4 lot.

Please sign up at National Drive Electric Week Event - Victoria, and/or contact Gerry ([email protected]) if you have any questions. Thanks, and we'll see you out there!

The EVs in the Wild last week generated some interest, and our EVs in Motion event yesterday was actually sold out by Friday morning. Probably 200 people were there throughout the day Sunday, and there was lots of conversation, and questions, and jaws dropping with the "new" (to them) information.

Here's the CHEK TV report on Sunday -- all in all, this was a very good event. Next year, we'll try to get more cars for the Tour and Test Drives because we had to turn people away this time. Thanks to Gerry (interviewed in video) who had a great vision on how to run this event and tirelessly worked to pull it off.

Victoria BC will again participate in National Drive Electric Week (Sept 12-20, 2015). We need help from all EV owners (not just Tesla owners!!); those without EVs looking to get involved can also volunteer on Sunday 20th for other organizational items such as signing people up, managing traffic, etc.

Please register here as a volunteer: https://driveelectricweek.org/event.php?eventid=303

There is more information on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DriveElectricVictoria

Prospective attendees (your friends, relatives etc!!) can get free priority seating tickets: http://tinyurl.com/DriveElectricVictoria2015

Volunteering doesn't involve much time commitment -- from Sep 14-18 (M-F), "EVs in the Wild" is a 3-4 hour mid-day (10a-2p) single day commitment with your EV on display, answering any questions about life with an EV to passersby. We hope to have enough cars for 4-6 parked EVs per day at a different Victoria location each day. This is different from last year, where we had multiple locations each day.

The Main Event: Display,Ride&Drive at UVic
Sun Sep 20: owners can offer their vehicle for any or all:

a) Parked on display, owner present to answer questions
b) Scenic Ride (owner drives approximately 20-minute scenic route with passengers)
c) Quick Ride (owner drives a 10-minute route with passengers)
d) Test Drive with owner in front passenger seat (5 minutes around Ring Road back to the UVic #10 parking lot)

Please sign up at National Drive Electric Week Event - Victoria, and add a post in this thread or PM me if you have any questions. Thanks, and we'll see you out there, helping people open a door into the future today!
