Model X in Q2 Shareholder Letter

Sounds like we're getting close. Don't really understand the Alpha prototype "design intent". What does that mean?

Working cars that are "design frozen". These aren't produced on the actual production line.

Update: Here is some inspiration for your custom mod for you....

The Alpha prototype is a key milestone in Elon's stock grant incentives, so it's great to see it happening. I hope that the Alpha vehicle will be publicly revealed and not kept under wraps.

I've been expecting sometime in Q1, so no disappointment here.

But could easily mean that we will see the deliveries being on track for summer 2015.

Spring 2015 ends in June. Tesla hasn't exactly tended to come in on the early side on any of their estimates, so my money is on June initial deliveries.

Early cars - founders and probably a small number of Signature cars delivered in late March, 2015 is my guess. Although technically it could be as late as May, 2015.

The good news is the alpha prototypes should allow them to begin real testing and start the clock towards delivery. However, reiterating Spring 2015 means Q2, not Q1. It sounds like they'll need more like 8-9 months worth of testing versus my previous 6 month estimate.

And winter 2013 (the time given for the CHAdeMO adapter in fall of 2013) still hasn't happened. So "Spring 2015" means "not before the end of June next year".

Transcript report I read said production cars on the road in Q1 but not necessarily in customer hands. :frown:

Yes I caught that too. Sounded to me like another delay without admitting to it. Now 2Q for first customer cars? And also they didn't clarify when we will actually see the final Model X design.
