I'd have to see the new grey to make a decision, but when I originally got the car it was a tough choice between the grey and black. I think a darker grey would look great. When I picked up my car at the factory it was a standout -- the grey was darker and more metallic (less dolphin-y) than the other few grey cars awaiting delivery. The delivery specialist said it was due to small batches of paint that every car was slightly different. I love my grey, but have parked next to some other greys that look considerably different (flatter, lighter and less metallic). My car ranges from silvery grey in bright light, to a deep grey in lower light. Looks very fluid. I prefer the darker tones when they come out, so I'd probably go for the new darker grey.

I really love how all the colors change depending on the light, hopefully the new grey will do the same.

As others have said, I'd want to see the new gray in the flesh. To me, at the moment there are about four shades of black; ie, the current green and blue, except in direct sunlight (at which point they look great!), are pretty much black. If the new gray is still light enough to be distinguished from black, I'd probably go for it. I'm hoping (more correctly, my wife is) for a new blue some day that looks a little less black. More like the cobalt blue of her 10th anniversary edition Miata.

The new darker grey looks really good, but I'm afraid it won't age well like many darker colors. It's a shame that the original Dolphin Grey is no longer available . . . It was a unique and mesmerizing color. Congrats to all you "limited edition" Dolphin Grey owners. Now, my pick would be the brown/bronze.
