I can't seem to get my question answered. I'm planning on registering my car in Delaware. The closest Service Centers for delivery are either Rockville, MD or Norristown, PA. I'd prefer to pick my car up in Rockville, but I can't seem to get an answer from anyone in Delivery at Rockville. My question is whether or not they process the title/tag work for Delaware, or do I need to take care of it? Has anyone from Delaware picked their car up from Rockville, MD? For that matter what about Norristown? Do they do the title/tag work for Delaware?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Kenny, I took my delivery through Norristown. When I picked it up it had a temporary California tag (in the rear window). I had to take it through Delaware inspection myself, pay the titling fee and got my plates. This was just over a year ago so maybe things have changed and you can get Tesla or a titling company to do all the paperwork for you.....Probably not.

Thanks for the reply/info. I had a feeling that would be the case. Ugh!

To make it more fun you have to take it through the inspection lanes just so they can do a VIN verification!!! The Delaware DMV has gotten much better/more efficient in recent years. The Process from beginning to end took about 45 minutes.

Just got a call from the Rockville, MD delivery specialist. Just as you said, I'll have to go to the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles to register/title the car as Delaware is a self-register state. I hope you're right with the 45 minute timeframe. We'll see.
Really depends on time you go since you have to go through the inspection line for them just to verify the VIN . Then go inside with the paperwork for titling/registration. You may know this but worst times to go are lunch Mon,Tues, thurs,Fri or since the only day they are open 1-8pm is Weds then 5-8 Wens. I would use the center on route 13 just outside Wilmington. I find that one faster than the one near New Castle County airport. Good luck
