Very much like my first thoughts
I just turn the ac off just before I get to my destination
also not so loud in range mode
the seats are still hard for me
I still give it a perfect score!
Any other car seems like such a waste
of heat and noise.

Spot on smsprague except for the ac noise. Mine doesn't seem very loud. Awesome vehicle. I wouldn't trade mine in for any other car, regardless of price. This car makes sense on every level. EVERY LEVEL!

Try the HD radio- it works well too- Glad your car is perfect. I've had mine 2 weeks and driven over 600 miles I just smile more each time I get in it. Pretty cool having an amusement ride on wheels.

Is the AC noise unusually loud or just noticeable as a result of no engine noise? When on a test drive I thought it was more noticeable as a result of no diesel engine in my case.

We don't have a lot of HD stations here in Tucson, but I found you can select FM and then dial to a normal station ( for example 92.9) and then I think all I did was push the arrow to make it go to 92.9-1 (digital my music) or 92.1-2 (alt programming i.e. Smooth Jazz) You can see what stations have an HD signal at HDradio.com, then entering your location. Hope this helps.

Curious how hot is it in Tucson yesterday?

I have not experienced any A/C noise but don't live in the desert.

I believe the sound the AC makes is normal, I was in Seattle this weekend and heard the same sound from another MS as it sat and "idled" and when you shut it down, there is a squirrel cage sound as the fans come to a stop. Both mine and the one I heard in Seattle did the same thing. On another note, the guy I talked to in Seattle had the rear window shade, It looks pretty nice and he said it helped his grandkids ride in the back. I may get it to reduce the solar loading here in Tucson. Haven't decided on which tint to get on the windows yet ( if any) Finally, I ordered the "heat shield" front window blind yesterday. Hope that reduces the heat load while parked, even though the AC does a good job cooling the car down when it's hot.

Not so dry today- the Dewpoint is up over 55- Monsoon's are about to arrive, then we got to try out the windshield wipers :smile:

Congrats Smsprague, I am jealous! BTW, I am also following in your footsteps - I have a MC Red Model S on order and also installing a solar PV System (9 kWh). Never thought I'd have a car "powered" by the Sun!!

Congrats smsprague, it's always good to see another person whose delivery lived up to their anticipation! (And given how much we all anticipate these cars, that's saying something!)
