Just had my car prepped and Opti-Coat applied by Johnny over at Distinctiv_Detailing in Fremont, CA.

I had originally wanted to get this done as soon as I picked up my S85 in March but Johnny was traveling a bit and was already booked solid until the end of June. I actually tried to wash the car as minimally as possible during these three months as I didn't want to risk having a bad car wash ruin the pristine paint. Beyond a wash at the factory, I've only washed the car three times, all at http://ecogreenautoclean.com/ in Redwood City, CA. As Johnny could attest, seems EcoGreen did a pretty good job with their waterless system.

In the Bay Area, there's a couple of choices for paint protection but I ended up choosing Johnny. First, there were great reviews all over TMC and other boards of Johnny's work. But what really helped me decide was that Johnny is recent college grad and has been doing detailing the past few years as a side business. I guess I've got a soft spot for up and coming kids willing to put in some work to get through school (I did the same).

Johnny spent a good eight hours on the car. He's a one man company so I know he did all the work himself. So far I'm really happy with the work. The car looks pristine again just like it rolled off the Tesla floor. Not sure if its psychological but the paint really pops right now!:D

I'm not going to get into a review of Opti-Coat itself as there's plenty of info on TMC for those interested. If you're interested in Johnny at Distinctiv Detailing, I would recommend.
