Wouldn't it be cheaper to configure and buy this vehicle new with the added tax incentives? I think you're asking too much.

Sometimes dealers think they may get a premium for the guy who has to have it now. It's a beautiful car, if it had the pano roof i'd have gotten it.

My experience with dealers is that they always start with some outrageous figure. They want to gauge interest but also want the buyer to make an offer. If that offer is more than what they paid, then they'll start talking to you in good faith. If the initial offer is below dealer's cost, then they'll just blow you off by taking a few bucks off the table, hoping you'd go away or make a more realistic offer.

When negotiating with dealers, it must not be personal. To them, its just an item to make money on. Figure out how much they likely paid for the car, figure they want to make around $3000 or so profit. As soon as they can make that, its sold. The longer they keep the car on the lot, the more it costs them.
