I am attending the PDG track day at Homestead on June 28th hosted by PDG.

"Performance Driving Group is a provider of weekend track days commonly known as HPDE (high performance driver education) where drivers get the opportunity to bring their cars to several race tracks in Florida, and drive on these race tracks at high speeds legally and in a predictable controlled environment"

http://www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com/Guest-Information/Track-Calendar.aspx

Cost $299.00 for that you get a full days instruction with lots of track time and lunch.

This is a similar event that the TMC is hosting at the TMC Connect 2014

I realize it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it may appeal to some of you.

It offers the opportunity to drive your Tesla at a high rate of speed in a controlled environment on a road course that includes homesteads high speed banking but it is not just the oval they have a road course in the stadium.
You also have an instructor in the car with you.

If you are interested please post here so I can make some arrangements at the track for charging our cars they can supply 3 X 240v outlets.
You don't need any experience to do this they cater for beginners to semi Pros

If this is something you would like to try but the date does not work for you there is another group on July 6th.
If this the July date is better for you let me know and I will make the arrangements at the track.

In my continuing efforts to have more fun that driving to Wal-Mart there is a great article along with videos on the Teslarati site about Track Days

http://www.teslarati.com/tesla-racing-series-types-racing/#wrZfJF6rfDoRMf8z.97

In addition to some excellent first hand experiences doing exactly what I am promoting above he points out that the reason to go is to have fun and improve your driving skills.

So June 28th Homestead Speedway 7am

Yep they have 240 at the track I figure you can get 3 hours of charging if you get there at 7am as we hit the track at about 10 am

I am driving to the track tomorrow and will find out the amperage hopefully they are 50 amp outlets then charge between lap times that what he guy on Teslarati does on his track days.

Also check out YouTube and put in Tesla Track day he has a bunch of videos from different tracks

NO to be clear I am doing the beginner class you are not racing other cars and it is not timed laps they have helmets to rent and at this level high temp brake fluid is not mandatory.

This is an introduction course to how to use your car on a track
